How does Electrolysis Work?

Best Electrolysis Hair Removal Best Laser Hair Removal Best Facials Electrolysis is the method of removing individual hairs from the face or body. A very fine, pre-sterilized and disposable probe is inserted into the hair follicle. Then a small but effective electric current is then applied to destroy the hair growth cells. The remaining hair is then easily removed by tweezers. Electrolysis is effective for all skin, hair and color types and any part of the body can be treated. Most areas of the body can be treated with electrolysis, including the eyebrows, face, abdomen, thighs, breasts, and legs.

Are there any side effects to electrolysis?

Electrolysis treatments will not puncture or harm the skin in any way although temporary light redness and swelling may occur. These reactions are normal and will subside in a few hours. It is important to remember that the hair follicle is open and prone to bacteria. Keep the area clean and avoid make up or harsh products for 48 hours is advised. Avoid activities that could irritate the treated areas such as excessive sweating, tanning and sun exposure.

How many treatments are needed?

Each client is unique and the number of treatments varies. A personalized treatment plan by Lylas' licenced and certified electrologist will ensure the most effective results. Come in for a free consultation today!
